Your Opportunity:
As an Electrical Engineer II/Sr. you will be exposed to a diverse set of tasks associated with power electronics design, including but not limited to PCB schematic/layout, design simulations, PCBA prototype builds, software and firmware development, product verification, design alternatives and certifications.
What you will be doing:
Design, implement, and troubleshoot control systems for power electronic products such as inverters and rectifiers.
Work in partnership with power electronics consultants, tracking design progress while building a working knowledge of motor control, drive design, tuning and troubleshooting.
Ensure new products meet safety and agency requirements, e.g. Underwriters Laboratory and others.
Works to ensure integration between engineering and procurement on new products and changes in purchased component design.
Utilizes Design for Excellence (DFX) tools during new product designs, redesigns and value engineering projects to create cost effective, manufacturable products.
Develop software and firmware to meet business unit needs based on application operating parameters.
Maintain awareness of emerging technologies in the field of power electronics and electric motor control.
Create test procedures to verify hardware and firmware designs.
Prepare technical reports on results and design decisions.
Build proficiency in all aspects of drive / controls for Greenheck, acting as the subject matter expert throughout the organization, providing education and support to business unit partners.
Provides expertise in system level design and integration of power electronic circuits
Support supplier validation and quoting efforts for electrical components spanning the entire PCB assembly, ranging from integrated circuits to discrete and custom components
Works with supply chain partners and engineering to identify value engineering opportunities and component substitutions.
Support technical questions throughout the quoting process for PCBA’s and PCB’s
Become a resident expert on PCB architecture and the technical aspects of their construction and manufacturing.
What you should have:
Required 4 -10+ years of relevant work experience or applied research in electrical design or electrical engineering.
Required 4 Year bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, master's or PhD is preferred.
Strong project management skills preferred.
Excellent communication and analytical skills are required.
Strong hands-on hardware and software development skills are required.
Strong working knowledge of permanent magnet motors and drives is preferred.
