Job description
- Responsible for electrical expertise in single/multiple areas of the plant.
- Lead continuous improvement and corrective action activities & projects.
- Provide technical support to internal customers.
- Manage major projects such as New Machine installation, upgrades, etc. The Projects range from $50K to $5M.
- Analyze project requirements, identify and address design parameters, engineering challenges and to ensure solutions are implemented accurately, timely and within budget.
- Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects, meeting quality standards and within budget.
- Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements, for all activities, are observed and implemented.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluating the performance of existing systems, processes and technologies and recommends modifications and enhancements to improve quality and/or efficiency
- Create and finalize designs to meet project scope of work and safety requirements, Bill of Materials and spare part requirements.
- Work closely with Automation Vendors and Manage External Contractors on Installations.
- Engineering drawing development. (Autodesk products)
- Project/Equipment Risk Assessment & Safety Countermeasure Implementation.
- Hardware design, PLC and HMI programming, VFDs, Servos, Control System Networking & Systems integration.
- Specification and procurement of electrical hardware and services.
- Machine FAT, IO check-out, Machine start-up and commissioning.

What are the nice-to-have skills?
-Experience specifying, installing, start-up and operation of A/C inverter and servo drives including Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa and Siemens. -Experience with Machine Vision Sensors and Systems. -Working knowledge of Industrial Robots. (FANUC, Yaskawa) -Working knowledge of Mitsubishi PLCs and GX-Developer software -Working knowledge of LabVIEW software for testing, measurement & control. -Experience with SAP for procurement and project cost tracking.

Leading tire manufacturers, has an immediate job opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at the Aiken County PSR/LTR Plant. This position is responsible for the design, installation and continuous improvement of assigned machines and controls in order to maximize the safety, quality and operating efficiency of the plant. Strong project management and PLC programming skills are required. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, drives & servos and power distribution equipment desired. CAD experience is not required, but engineers are responsible for ensuring that drawings are correct and initiating changes when needed. This position is also responsible for maintenance technical support as needed. Must have BSEE.

Manages contractor and service technicians assigned; plus, work with service technicians and plant management to improve equipment to meet specifically defined goals on uptime and productivity.
