Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, develop, debug, and document firmware for a variety of electro-mechanical and optical devices.
- Lead the design and development of embedded software engineering activities and provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
- Be a go-to person to escalate the development, performance and evaluation issues that require in-depth knowledge of firmware development for ARM MCUs.
- Participate in the definition and execution of firmware development roadmaps in partnership with hardware designers and algorithm development team.
- Support all phases of hardware development - including early architecture requirements definition, firmware architecture, implementation, bring up, debug, and verification.
- Understand and implement device communication protocols, bootloaders, scheduling, inter-processor communication, image sensing and acquisition, and firmware/system interfaces on RTOS and/or bare-metal environments.
- Experience with embedded software design and programming in C/C for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis.
- 5 years of experience in embedded software development.
- Experience working with embedded hardware platforms and exposure to concepts such as interrupts and polling.
- Experience building software for embedded systems or custom SoCs.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing with modern RTOS platforms.
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers for debugging embedded systems at HW level.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or several of the following areas - communication protocols (TCP/IP, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CAN), computer vision, camera pipelines, DSP, or pre-silicon environments and prototyping (FPGAs, simulation, emulation).
