About the Job
The Q-SYS Sr Digital Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing electronic hardware products for Q-SYS. A successful candidate needs a broad technical background in designing, simulating, fabricating, and testing analog and high-speed digital sub-systems.
Typical responsibilities include analog and digital circuit design, architectural design, schematic capture, circuit modeling, PCB layout, timing analysis, component selection, writing code to test the controller and enable basic functionality, supporting the development of the low-level hardware drivers, bringing up prototypes, and testing & validating designs.
The engineer is responsible for delivering product design that meets all safety, regulatory, and performance requirements. In addition, the Q-SYS Power Electronics Engineer will provide guidance to junior team members and technicians.
The position requires the individual to work well within a small, cross-functional team of mechanical, software, and firmware engineers, product managers, program managers, manufacturing engineers, and NPI engineers. The role requires someone who is self-motivated, has excellent problem-solving skills, possesses a keen attention to detail, works well within a small team, and can produce results.
Base Salary Range 114,000 – 155,000
The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off and discretionary bonuses.

Responsibilities:- Designs and implements analog and digital electronic circuits.
- Performs circuit simulation and circuit reliability evaluation.
- Proposes and drives technical solutions that best satisfy the technical, financial, manufacturability, quality, and time-to-market constraints and requirements.
- Participates in design reviews and provides design feedback to peers and design partners.
- Creates and documents test plans for design qualification.
- Develops and conducts analysis of audio electronics components and systems.
- Drives and achieves results that meet aggressive time and cost constraints
- Carries out design verification and validation activities, documenting detailed findings in the form of qualification report(s)
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience designing, building, and testing analog and digital circuits and related subsystems (e.g. on-board DSP HW, PSUs, microcontrollers, etc.), ideally in commercial or professional audio or audio/video markets.
- Superior problem-solving skills: issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, and developing recommendations
- Experience creating cost-effective solutions that meet aggressive product features, cost, quality, performance, and time-to-market requirements.
- Skilled in computer-based electronic design and PCB layout
- Proficiency with electronics test and measurement tools (Oscilloscopes, Audio Precision T&M, etc.).
- Knowledge of microprocessor-based systems
- Experience with simulation tools
- VHDL or Verilog experience is a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and test methods, including UL, FCC, CE, and others
