Responsibilities:Provide controls and electrical engineering services with an emphasis in leading project and asset management initiatives across BEF facilities and corporate. Overall project management accountabilities including budgets, objective and scheduled constraints required to ensure efficient production of a quality product while supporting short and long-term company goals.
- Lead capital projects and technical sponsor for significant capital improvements by collaborating with system controls integrators, project managers and IT on the development, evaluation, and integration of new operational technology and controls systems enhancements to meet strategic business plans and customer requirements.
- Apply engineering principles to optimize plant power distribution electrical systems, motor control center, VFDs, and process / packaging / utility equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Work with internal customers to improve key processes or equipment by providing engineering technical support to production teams. Identify gaps and develop strategy for rate increases to meet business growth needs.
- Assist in strategy planning for manufacturing lines and utilities to maximize their capabilities. Evaluate and optimize existing controls systems by leveraging extensive knowledge of troubleshooting and data analysis, resulting in sustainable systems for improvement implementation. Identifies and implements improvements to ensure process consistency and capability to ensure both local and multi-site benefits.
- Lead the development and implementation of the lifecycle and threat management program for operational technology assets at both a local and enterprise level. Ensure ongoing vulnerability management, software upgrades, hardware upgrades to proactively manage end-of-life or business needs. Ensure ongoing backup and configuration management for critical control system device and associated documentation.
- Develop and maintain best practices in network segmentation, version control, and component standardization for operational technology assets covering a wide range of controls systems and platforms (Allen-Bradley PLCs, ControlLogix, Powerflex, SLC, CompactLogix, Micrologix, Logix 500, Logix 5, Logix 5000, RS Linx, RS Networx, etc).
- BS in engineering (electrical or computer) or equivalent years of experience required
- 10 or more years of Controls & Electrical Systems experience within a manufacturing setting, preferably within food manufacturing
- Ability to work cross-functionally and in a team environment, manage outside contractors and work with employees at all levels – both in a plant setting and at the corporate level
