Reporting to the VP Engineering, the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will reinforce our DSP engineering team and have an instrumental role in the development of new telemetry products, relying more and more on Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform and signal processing (FPGA), from RF to IP. We are looking for someone passionate about transmitters/receivers with strong knowledge in modulation / demodulation / coding techniques and proficient in implementing a theoretical solution into an FPGA code and delivering a fully tested algorithm.

Major duties and responsibilities
- Follow the ISO procedures and milestone associated for engineering development.
- Able to accurately define and estimate developmental effort from a requirement.
- Manage end to end an engineering DSP developmental task going through the 3 major steps below:
- Development of a software / MATLAB solution using theoretical approach and fundamentals of waveform / coding
- Optimization and implementation of the code (VHDL or Verilog) into a constraint FPGA based platform
- Develop and run testing methods to qualify the newly developed FPGA code into the product environment (transmitter, receiver, simulator, other)
- Support and collaborate with other DSP engineers to compare approaches, work and recommendations
- Collaborate with the other engineering departments: Hardware design, Software design and system design and support Production and Testing if needed.
- Participate in weekly engineering meeting reporting on development progress and status.
- Related duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum master’s degree in electrical engineering (EE)
- Previous experience in working in Engineering team and designing technological products.
- Previous experience in Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) is required, and specifically in telemetry waveform (RCC IRIG-106 standard) a plus.
- Experience in using Xilinx branded FPGA like Spartan, Kintex7, UltraScale…
- Proficient in using MATLAB and understanding waveform and Forward Error Correction (FEC) theory.
