Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to join our team. This key leadership role will oversee all aspects of SEC reporting and technical accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of SEC regulations, a proven track record of building and leading teams, and experience in complex business organizations. This role will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and can be located within a divisional office or be a remote role anywhere within the U.S. with occasional travel.
Responsibilities Include
- Build and oversee all quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting
- Build and maintain a SOX control environment that complies with all regulatory and operational standards
- Review all ASC 842 lease accounting calculations and build related disclosures
- Build and review all ASC 718 stock compensation calculations and related disclosures
- Oversee preparation and review of the consolidated statement of cash flows
- Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Discuss and determine the application of accounting concepts with management for presentation in financial statements
- Partner with divisional accounting, legal, investor relations, and business teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements and disclosures
- Assist with ASC 805 business combination accounting and ASC 350 goodwill accounting
- Lead annual ASC 350 goodwill impairment and 360 long lived asset impairment
- Build and lead a high performing team
The ideal candidate will have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
- 12 years of progressive experience in SEC financial reporting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- A combination of public accounting and public company industry experience is preferred, with extensive experience in technical accounting
- Strong knowledge and ability to apply GAAP and SEC regulations
- Experience in a SOX 404 control environment within a public company
Preferred experience
- Preparation / Review of Form S-1
- Familiarly with Workiva and OneStream systems
- Business combination, lease accounting and stock compensation accounting
- Resourceful and forward-thinking, with a hands-on approach to solving ambiguous and unsolved problems
