The Sr. Director, Knowledge Management is the champion for organization-wide data collection, knowledge sharing, and systemic learning so that pertinent information and experiences are shared internally, and as appropriate, externally with clients, partners, and stakeholders. This role is responsible for working with departments and field offices across the organizations to forward the identification, analysis, packaging, stewardship, and dissemination of knowledge that ACDI/VOCA employs to improve program, technical and operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience in information systems; and/or knowledge management/strategy, plus two (2) years managerial experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally required up to 20%; may be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on country requirements.
The salary range for this position is $100,936 to $150,748; candidate's relevant experience and skills, as well as our internal equity, will be considered before an offer is extended.
Responsibilities:- Promotes a client focus in working with both HO and field-based staff across the organization.
- Work across the organization to identify tools, reports, dashboards and databases that will improve program, technical and operational effectiveness and efficiency. Work with relevant staff from design through rollout and ensures participation of all stakeholders. Clearly present how each resource that is developed will be maintained and regularly updated once it is fully implemented.
- Manage and communicate priorities identified to executive management for decisions on resource allocation.
- Develop knowledge management strategy and annual framework for implementation.
- Identify best KM practices and leverage existing technology and skill sets to create new systems and business intelligence forums.
- Provide feedback to workflow schematics, including technical cross-platform schematics.
- Identify bottlenecks in technology adoption, and provide evidence of resolving these through a combination of human/process/tools.
- Create and manage central repository for technical, operational and programmatic tools, systems, policies, and other relevant documents.
- Clearly articulate corporate requirements, budget, benefits, timeline for rollout, required staffing, and connection to existing information resources.
- Explore and establish frameworks on how knowledge might be effectively shared externally, as well as internally. Explore and establish external partnerships that progress ACDI/VOCA’s overall KM strategy and culture.
- Work with supervisor to develop and implement a budget, along with business cases for investment of funds, and a set of metrics so that the KM team and KM initiatives can be held accountable to senior leadership.

- Knowledgeable in SharePoint, R, SQL.
- Successful organizational institutionalization of information management platforms.
- Experience designing and deploying information management solutions across multiple office locations.
- Prior success in supporting multiple departments in maximizing utility of existing systems and information.
- Fluency in English required. Professional proficiency in French or Spanish is strongly desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proven ability in communication and visualization skills: Knowledge of visualization tools, ability to help teams translate data into improved decision making.
- Creative and collaborative.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally required up to 20%; may be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on country requirements.
- Must be available during core business hours and/or operating hours for international time differences; flexibility to work more hours when needed.
- Flexibility to work in office based on work demands.
