Compensation:
The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component.
Salary Range: $255,000 – $280,000 (SF Bay Area). Salary ranges for non-California locations may vary.

Summary:
Essential Functions:
- Provide project management expertise and collaborate with the Commercial Manufacturing & Supply Chain (CMSC) Team Leader to lead the CMSC Strategy Team.
- Establish the CMSC Strategy PM and the Commercial Manufacturing Product (CPT) Team PM roles, infrastructure, and hiring necessary to support Vaxcyte’s commercial manufacturing and corporate objectives.
- Hire, train, and manage Commercial Manufacturing Project Management team members as required to ensure project management support is successfully provided to CMSC and CPT teams for products moving into and throughout commercialization.
- Ensure integration of the product’s commercial manufacturing and corporate goals; ensure the commercial manufacturing team achieves identified goals for the program.
- Ensure the alignment of the commercial manufacturing product plans to corporate strategic direction, resource allocation, and management decision-making.
- Facilitate team meetings, cross-functional communication, and decision-making; ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders, commercial product teams, and functional area partners.
- In collaboration with the team leader, prepare CMSC project plans for program management review.
- Establish and maintain functionally integrated project timelines and team documentation to enable accurate product, financial, and portfolio analyses and to ensure accurate inputs are provided for corporate planning and strategic processes.
- Communicate, document, and archive team activities and decisions; act as a primary contact for CMSC strategy team-related information.
- Identify critical project risk factors and mitigating actions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in project team activities; partner with the team leader to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high level of sustainable performance, by contributing to appropriate team management best practices.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in Project Management practices at Vaxcyte; lead department initiatives for Commercial Manufacturing Product Teams.
Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in life sciences, engineering, or business administration; advanced degree desired. PMP Certification and/or Project Management training desired. 15+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with at least ten years of relevant experience in commercial manufacturing operations and project management, including significant experience in a cross-functional team environment.
- Thorough understanding of commercial manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements in biotech/drug/vaccine industry, including key interdependencies, and knowledge of proven commercial manufacturing best practices.
- Expert analytical skills for integrating and interpreting interdisciplinary project information; thorough understanding of the drug/vaccine commercialization process.
- Expert planning and tracking skills, well-organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects with respect to priorities and self-management.
- Expert team management skills, including facilitation, conflict resolution, and team development.
- Proven influence management and communication skills, at all levels of the organization.
- Expert knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. Experience with Smartsheet and Clarity is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
