Desktop Support and Data Solutions Technician
We seek a Desktop Support and Data Solutions Technician. The successful candidate will support IT incidents, service requests, onboarding/offboarding, web development, API integration, database administration, data modeling, and user training.
The ideal candidate communicates technical information to nontechnical employees and works independently and as part of a team. The engineer in this role reports directly to the Firm’s Senior IT Manager and be expected to be physically present in the Firm’s San Francisco office at least three to four days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Desktop Support: Provide day-to-day support for hardware, software (cloud and on-premises), printers, and video conferencing across the Firm; Windows 11 and MAC OS environments; and video/audio conference setup. Manage system tickets, tier 1 security requests, and maintain detailed records in the IT ticketing system; conduct remote troubleshooting (including iOS devices) via phone, email, shared desktop, and Microsoft Teams; and troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Create and update documentation for security compliance, audit policies, desktop configurations, IT processes, and service records; enforce IT security policies, conduct monthly security audits (e.g., Active Directory, distribution groups), and log/review findings with the team. Assist with testing new software and patches, restore data using the Firm’s backup system, and maintain workstations/peripherals. Facilitate onboarding/offboarding processes and image devices using Microsoft Intune.
- Web Development: Assist with developing and enhancing web applications
- API Integration: Assist with integrating third-party APIs and developing custom APIs to facilitate data exchange between different systems.
- Database Administration: Perform database administration tasks, including schema design, indexing, and optimization for SQL Server databases. Ensure the security, integrity, and performance of databases.
- Data Modeling and Architecture
- Business Intelligence: Utilize SSRS and Power Platform
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including attorneys, data scientists, and other developers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a combination of employment, educational, and life experience that demonstrates the qualities and skills below:
- Education and Experience: You are familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular, and with server-side programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or Node.js to assist with processing user requests and interactions with Large Language Model APIs. You hold a CompTIA A+, Network+ Certification, or equivalent. You have a minimum of 4 years of experience with cloud phone systems, MDM Solutions, Microsoft Intune, and Imaging & Software Development at a professional services firm (law firm preferred). You also possess a working knowledge of IT Policies and Procedures, Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365, Server 2016 through 2022, 2FA software and procedures, Active Directory and Security Groups, as well as warehousing concepts and practices. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Compensation: up to 90K (non-exempt) depending on experience based on 40 hours of work per week.
