The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Sr. Design Engineer - Paint Innovation.
Job Summary
Harley-Davidson is looking for a creative individual with a passion for innovation to join our paint and graphics engineering team. This senior-level role will be responsible for developing and delivering the comprehensive new product innovation plan. This role will directly impact all Harley-Davidson motorcycle “look”, bringing exciting new visuals to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborating internally with our Design Studio and Product Planning teams to identify project opportunities and their value proposition.
- Looking externally for new looks and technological advancements to bring back for assessment.
- Developing a multi-year roadmap which plots project delivery while also supporting our internal and external manufacturing strategies.
- Integrating paint projects into our broader innovation and advanced development team.
- Assigning design engineers advanced development projects and managing progress up through sampling and manufacturing trials.
- Directly input into motorcycle product life cycle plan.

- Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical Degree.
Experience Requirements
This position typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the followin
- Innovation and advanced delivery development
- Delivering or supporting new product development
- Interfacing with CMF (Color, Materials, Finishes) industrial designers
- Design of component coatings (liquid industrial paint, inorganic finishes, PVD, ect.)
- Manufacturing delivery of parts with coatings
- Manufacturing paint shop automation
