About the Job
We are seeking a Sr DBA - Oracle/Redshift to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
Location of work is remote in US.
*Position is contingent on funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical solutions to complex requirements working with the technical team.
- Prototype new technologies and solutions and present to leadership.
- Comply with development and coding standards and architecture.
- Perform design, code and peer reviews of technical work..
- Database administration development for both Oracle and Redshift.
- Setup and tune databases (Oracle optimizer/Indexes and Data Partitions to maintain high availability and performance).
- Performance monitoring on jobs running on the databases.
- Restoring backup tables from snapshots based on Ad-Hoc or FS requests.
- Experience with Linux /Unix Shell scripting.
- Establish, enforce, and document database security measures, policies, and standards
- Design systems using least privilege criteria, includes user management to create Roles/groups, and database schemas.
- Assist with DARE implementation requests (Manage PKI Certificates).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development, testing, disaster recovery and deployment activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL and PostgreSQL.
- 5+ years of experience with RedShift or Greenplum 6 PL/PGSQL.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux /Unix Shell scripting.
- Understand OLTP vs OLAP data structures and configuration.
- Strong experience designing systems using least privilege criteria, includes user management to create Roles/groups, and database schemas.
- Exhibits strong experience with performance tuning and monitoring activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.
- Knowledge in AWS is a plus.
Additional Requirements, as per Contract/Client:
- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
