CGH has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Database Administrator to join the CGH Team.
Purpose: The Sr. Database Administrator will leverage experience in Oracle Database Development and Administration to support technical, business, and financial objectives. This role involves working with both custom and packaged software, focusing on database design, data modeling, and technical support. The Database Administrator will be responsible for the development, testing, debugging, and implementation of code within the customer system, ensuring optimal database performance and reliability.
Responsibilities: - Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability while adhering to customer requirements.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and best practices for database security.
- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks, applying tuning and optimization strategies to ensure efficient operation.
- Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and ensure availability in case of system failures.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and application developers, assisting with database queries and troubleshooting as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures; prepare reports on database performance and compliance for management review.
- Support PL/SQL development and administration, ensuring effective database functionality and application performance.
- Understand and comply with development standards and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to maintain consistency across projects.
- Engage in planning, development, and troubleshooting efforts as required to enhance database systems.
- Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures tailored for specific user applications to improve data accessibility and security.
- Project long-range requirements for database administration and design in collaboration with other managers in the information systems function.
- Analyze relationships between work activities and data records to determine insights and synthesize information from multiple data sources.

Number of Years Experience Required: - 10+ years' experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
Minimum Education and Certifications Required: - Bachelors' Degree in related field - Computer Science, Engineering, or Math is preferred.
Technical Skills Required: - Must have extensive hands on experience as a Oracle database (PL/SQL) developer and be comfortable with complex development and testing.
- Experienced with designing databases and developing entity-relationship diagrams.
- Proficient in managing databases across multiple operating systems, including Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM-AIX, RHEL, Windows, and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL).
- Extensive experience with Oracle (versions 8i to 19C) and MySQL, along with knowledge of MongoDB and PostgreSQL for diverse data handling.
- Skilled in implementing solutions like Data Guard, RAC, Oracle Golden Gate, and advanced Oracle technologies such as EXADATA and ODA to ensure optimal performance and disaster recovery.
- Proficient in various database management tools (RMAN, OEM, SQL*Loader) and programming languages (SQL, PL/SQL, Python, Shell scripting) for automation, performance tuning, and data processing.
