About the Job
The Senior Data Scientist I plays a pivotal role in utilizing data to generate insights, applying advanced statistical or machine learning methodologies, solving complex business problems, and influencing decision-making across the organization. This position reports to the Data Science Manager of the Health Analytics unit.
Responsibilities:- Applies advanced data analytics techniques to extract insights and patterns from complex
data sets. - Develops predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to
solve business problems and improve decision-making. - Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data and
analytics to drive innovation and business advancement. - Mentors, collaborates and/or leads data analysts and junior data scientists in complex
analytical projects. - Communicates complex findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively,
through visualizations, presentations, and reports. - Stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science techniques and tools, and
applies them to enhance our data science capabilities. - Ensures data quality and integrity by implementing data cleaning, preprocessing, and
validation methods. - Collaborates and supports the Health Analytics team in ad-hoc analysis, code &
algorithm review, or any other needed support. - Conducts complex statistical analysis and complex reporting independently or with
minimal supervision. - Designs and develops data collection strategies, aggregation, analysis, and reporting to
ensure data integrity and enhance information value - Works collaboratively with business partners, other analysts, and IT to gather and
integrate data from disparate sources - Participates in design and interpretation of data analyses; provides recommendations for
improvement of data quality and reporting. - Maintains in-depth knowledge of health plan operations, including claims processing,
utilization management, quality improvement activities and pay for performance
programs. - Critically analyzes data, draws conclusions and effectively articulates results.
- Presents data and conclusions to non-technical audience; uses data visualizations and
summaries to highlight key findings. - Creates and maintains thorough and consistent documentation of programs used to create
reports and analyses. - Manages and prioritizes workload while meeting deliverables and expectations.
- Works collaboratively across departments to understand and meet the organization’s
analytic needs. - Takes on various assignments, either collaboratively or independently as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience | Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics,

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications | Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and
|
Performance Based Competencies | Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate
|
Work Environment And Physical Demands | A majority of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. |

HIRING RANGE:
$136,296.78 - $177,185.82
