Sr. Data Governance / Data Management Consultant

Must Have:

• Experience in Data Management Transformational leadership with significant progressive subject matter expertise in Data Governance, Analytics, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Architecture strategy and solutions.
• Passionate about data literacy and innovating with technology to make data accessible.
• Experience with enabling solutions to mature actionable analytics, helping with business insights to drive decision-making.
• Experience in fostering trust and cultivating data culture through adoption of best practices, standards, policies and technologies with focus on data integrity, security, privacy, classification and compliance.
• Creative problem solver and excellent at researching, learning new things quickly.
• Adept at understanding and transforming business processes and equally proficient in technologies backed with excellent program and project management skills.
• Experience with Product and Supplier data management (as it relates to Product Lifecycle Management PLM & Supply Chain Operations (SCO processes) expertise and experience.
• Experience in designing and managing PDM/PIM/Product datahubs.
• Exceptional communications and leadership engagement skills
• Experience with leading large organization programs on Data Management with focus on Data Governance
• Management consulting pedigree / background

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter platform, PLM processes and data flows in Hitech

industry

• Experience with platforms like Stibo, TigerGraph, Oracle Product Data Hub, PIM/PDM platforms etc.
• Collibra, Data Governance Catalog, experience with any other tools to capture Data + Metadata, to contextualize data lineage and traceability. Experience with implementing function/role-based security.

Then you may be the Sr. Data Governance / Data Management Consultant we are seeking.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Product Data Architect with progressive experience in leading Data Governance programs. As a client advisor, you will need an understanding of how connected data can transform product lifecycle management processes through Digital threads, PDM, PIM, Product data hubs and a supporting Governance model. He or she should be passionate about data and should have had career experience in data modeling, design, architecture, quality management, data stewardship progressively leading into data governance expertise.

Responsibilities

Establish Enterprise Data Stewardship, Organization and Governance

• Establish and manage an Enterprise Data Governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities.

• Roll out an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.

• Serve as a liaison between Business/Functional areas and Technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
• Understand data ingestion needs, work with multiple data admins and leadership teams to define data governance policies across organizations data landscape. Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
• Collaborate extensively with IT organization and Privacy/Security teams to implement and automate the governance process and procedures to assure: Data Governance, Data Integrity, and Data Management.

• Develop a governance framework to track data lineage and traceability. Lead projects to automate data pipelines and governable workflows to mitigate risks, to assist stewardship maintain data accountability and quality control.
• Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.

• Deliver measurable results, data quality score cards and compliance reports, designed to measure data accountability. Provide weekly leadership updates.
• Work closely with Senior Executives to develop enforceable policies and standards, delivering enterprise governance frameworks across big data systems, automating enterprise data governance to improve data accountability.

• Influence change through thought leadership and exceptional communication skills to lead data management strategies across organizational divisions, cultivating productive relationships with business and IT leaders, to close data quality gaps.

• Facilitate use of single-source-of-truth data concept by encouraging report generators to share data assets details, data flow usage.
• Maintain a current fact base and reference material to train stakeholders on how to participate in the Data Integrity process. Assist with training documentation and knowledge transfers.
• You will be based out of our offices in Bay Area, CA and commute to client location as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10-14 years of strong background and progressive experience in leading Data Governance and Data Management as part of transformation programs for global organizations.
• 7-10 years of hands-on experience with product / supplier data architecture, modeling, quality management, readiness, lineage analysis, value management, and governance
• Exceptional presentation, communication, negotiation and closing skills.

• Creative and logical thinker, self-starter, problem solver, and quick learner, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations with customers and colleagues in a well-structured and meaningful way.
• Experience in working in a high achieving, environment - where making sense of ambiguity is a key to success.
