Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Purchasing Director, this position will be responsible for purchasing Hydraulic Cores needed to support BBB Industries remanufactured Pumps, Motors and Hydraulic Cylinders businesses.
In addition, this position will play a role in purchasing the company’s capital equipment needs. This role is a highly visible position that requires purchasing, material planning and inventory management of Cores from domestic and offshore suppliers. The position supports BBB’s Industrial manufacturing locations in Chesterfield, Memphis and Seattle. This role will require a genuine interest in the Core process and industries such as mining, marine, automotive and natural gas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for purchasing industrial materials
- Define with cross functional collaboration the Core strategy
- Expand procurement base
- Issue RFQ’s and follow up with purchase orders to suppliers.
- Follow up with suppliers and maintain purchase orders with correct cost and delivery dates.
- Follow up with suppliers and logistics providers to help ensure on time delivery.
- Confer with subject matter experts in multiple departments in determining and defining what cores are needed to support current and future business model.
- Attend auctions on a case-by-case basis as part of the purchasing process.
- Manage companies E-Bay bids on Surplus/Cores.
- Travel to suppliers as surplus/core opportunities develop.
- Maintain item attributes within MRP system.
- Manage Inventory transactions and ensure accuracy with receiving and cycle counts.
- 50% Domestic Travel will be required.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a primarily controlled environment (office). Although the QE main work location is in an office space the role will require the candidate to be in and out of the operations where exposure to dust, rogue, and other materials for short periods.
Physical Demands:
Sitting 60%, standing/walking 40%.
- Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA preferred (Business, Logistics, or related field).
- Minimum of 5 years experience Senior Buyer or Commodity Manager.
- Experience in Hydraulics industry is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to communicate effectively across organizational lines.
- Good understanding of logistics a plus but not mandatory.

- Microsoft Excel Level -Needs to be very good or excellent.
- Experience in using MRP systems, SAP Business 1 system a plus but not mandatory
- Customer oriented.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
