Sr. Controls Engineer at Tek Labs Inc

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Controls Engineer with a strong background in HVAC controls and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have 10–13 years of experience and demonstrate expertise in the following areas  

• Job Title: Sr. Controls Engineer
• Location: Overland Park, KS
• Salary: $80K/Year

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, read, and create HVAC schematics for complex systems.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, and various communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, CAN, Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, DCS, and ICS.
• Select and manage electrical and electronic components such as MCBs, ELCBs, EC Motors, Pumps, Fuses, and Solenoid Valves.
• Perform obsolescence management for components like transformers, relays, contactors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, MCUs, and memory devices.
• Utilize CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, for designing and updating schematics.
• Conduct hands-on testing with equipment like clamp meters and multimeters, ensuring high-quality system performance.
• Work on high-voltage electrical systems with adherence to safety and technical standards.
• Interact with end customers to provide quotes, analyze data, and make decisions to meet project requirements.
• Ensure seamless client interaction and deliver solutions aligned with customer expectations.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • 10–13 years of experience in HVAC controls and electrical systems.
  • Proven expertise in working with high-voltage systems and communication protocols.

• Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design tools.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and client interaction skills.

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Electronics, or an equivalent field.
