Job description
We are looking for a reliable Sr. Construction Project Manager for the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center program to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Select tools, materials and equipment, and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- Licensed professional in California, and/or Certified Construction Manager.
- Experience as a project manager/construction manager representing owners of Health Facilities, Parking Garages, OSHPD facilities, and structural demolition.
- 15 years' experience in the position working on complex construction projects under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles and OSHPD in California.
- Prior Design-Build projects experience in similar sizes and complexity as a project manager.
- Environmental hazardous material abatement experience.
- Management of building projects in similar size and complexity.
- Evidence of satisfactory past performance, knowledge of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- LEED AP Certification is desirable.
- Building Information Modeling, (BIM) experience is desirable.
