As a Senior Compressor Mechanic at IACX Energy, you will serve as a vital contributor to our maintenance team with the primary responsibility of ensuring the smooth operation of our compressors, which are essential for the functionality and productivity of our oil and gas extraction and processing facilities. You will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and maintaining the integrity of our mechanical equipment, through both preventive maintenance and timely, skilled repair work.
What you will do
Primary Duties:
Conduct routine inspections of compressors and related equipment to assess functionality and efficiency.
Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, and ancillary equipment.
Perform precise diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of a variety of compressor sets, including both reciprocating and rotary screw compressors.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine the best way to correct them, consulting with supervisors and OEM manuals as needed.
Rebuild, replace, or repair major parts such as crankshafts, pistons, bearings, valves, and seals.
Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals to accurately install and maintain equipment.
Use precision measuring tools to set and verify clearances and tolerances.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
Record maintenance and repair work in detail to ensure accurate historical maintenance records.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior mechanics and technicians.
Analyze system performance and recommend modifications or upgrades to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Keep meticulous records of inspections, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
Coordinate with the operations team to schedule maintenance activities with minimal impact on production.
Mentor and provide technical advice to junior mechanics.
Uphold strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
Participate in emergency response teams as needed
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Trade certification or diploma in mechanical engineering technology or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in compressor maintenance, specifically within the oil and gas industry.
Mechanical knowledge: 10+ years (Required).
Experience with the latest compressor technologies and industry-specific regulations.
