Job Description:
We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, while also proactively identifying and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance in our mortgage operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee key regulatory compliance functions to align with our risk tolerance.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations and guidelines.
- Lead and manage projects in collaboration with junior staff, providing clear objectives and support for timely completion.
- Implement corrective actions promptly when needed.
- Identify opportunities to mitigate operational, financial, legal, and regulatory risks.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in change management and problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Analytical skills for researching federal and state laws and addressing operational challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of experience in mortgage banking (e.g., underwriting, processing, closing, loan origination, servicing, compliance, or audit).
- Preferred experience in mortgage banking compliance programs.
- Familiarity with Encompass is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage lending and servicing laws.
