Summary of Position:
The Sr. Communications Specialist will support a fast-paced, global internal communications team at Quaker Houghton. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse communications initiatives in a global business environment, including project management, writing, editing, and content development across mixed media. This position reports to the Global Director of Communications and is located in Conshohocken, PA.
What will you do?
- Consult on appropriate communications strategies for a variety of business initiatives. Design scopes of work, identifying business challenges, objectives, and recommended tactics.
- Design and execute on the internal communication campaign needs of various corporate initiatives. Support may include project planning, content development, writing, production/distribution, and vendor management. Note: some end products are produced in multiple languages.
- Work with channel owners from around the globe to prepare content, handling production (basic layout and design), and assisting with final distribution. This could include articles and announcements, videos, case studies, and internal promotional messaging.
- Source and prepare Quaker Houghton news and internal promotional content for internal distribution, using various platforms. Distribution platforms may include: intranet, email, videos, newsletters, social media, digital signage, brochures, webcasts, etc.
- Capture and update supporting materials as needed (i.e. photo, video, other) to ensure brand consistency and professionalism.
- Navigate and build internal networks, across business lines and regions, to gather Quaker Houghton news and information from subject matter experts.
- Assist with management of company editorial calendar and measure against defined content objectives.
Education, Experience and Training:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate communications.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferably in Strategy

- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills along with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrate an ability to write and edit business communications and condense complex/lengthy information into summary paragraphs.
- Demonstrate project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at one time, understand priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills. Common platforms will include the MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Photoshop, Vyond, Poppulo. Graphic design software experience is a big plus!
- Ability to be a self-starter and able to work independently, yet take direction from others and work collaboratively.
- Experience networking within an organization to find needed resources and build strong relationships virtually.
