OVERVIEW
As a Sr. Category Buyer - Seasonings/Spices, your role sits within the Global Value-Added and Agriculture Ingredients team, and reports to the Value Added Ingredients- Global Taste Ingredients Manager. In this role, you are responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end sourcing process of the desk that include Seasonings and Spices. You are responsible for partnering with your business stakeholders, delivering end to end strategy, resilience and business connectivity, as well as generating strong value creation. This role will effectively manage supply relationship responsibilities, ensuring continuity of supply, and driving significant connections to the business through the BPM process.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Participate in development of strategic sourcing plans that provide General Mills with a competitive advantage and deliver long term consistent, sustainable, cost-effective supply of products and/or services
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and suppliers to meet business needs, achieving quality, growth, cost management and efficiency goals
- Deliver according to regional/global performance metrics for your categories including fulfillment of Holistic Margin Management and total value
- Mitigate risk through supplier management and industry knowledge
- Comply with corporate and regulatory policies and accounting practices
- Learn and leverage continuous improvement tools and processes
- Develop and maintain expertise with the Source to Pay Process
- Execute Sourcing Objectives Goals Strategies Measurements initiatives as applicable
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Supporting the greater Sourcing function through active leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree
- 1-4 years Supply Chain experience, with at least 1 year direct buying experience
- Experience with contract management, risk management, market analysis, project management, financial analysis
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Economics
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and during times of significant change
- Past category leadership experience
- Strong financial acumen
- Ability to lead and execute projects independently
- Previous experience working with cross functional partners (Supply Chain, Quality, R&D).
- Ability to collaborate and influence others
- Previous experience developing and leading category strategies, development of external partner capabilities, and leading cost savings initiatives
- Strong communication skills
