JOB TITLE: Sr. Business Systems Analyst – Accounting Software Vendor Selection

DURATION: 3 months to start
RATE RANGE: $50-83/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Business Systems Analyst with expertise in accounting software to support a two-phase project involving vendor selection and the potential implementation of a new accounting system.
In Phase 1, the primary focus will be on vendor selection, where you will work part-time to gather requirements, assess options, and recommend the best platform to meet accounting and financial reporting needs.
Phase 2 may follow, where you could transition to full-time hours to support the implementation process, ensuring the system meets requirements and is successfully integrated. Please note that Phase 2 is a potential opportunity, but not guaranteed.
Responsibilities:
Phase 1: Vendor Selection (Approx. 3 months)
- Vendor Selection: Assist in evaluating and selecting a new accounting software system, working closely with the Finance team to align with business needs.
- Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Platform Assessment: Present recommendations on platform options based on business needs, scalability, and integration capabilities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Finance and IT teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with business goals.
Phase 2: Implementation (Approx. 6-12 months)
- Implementation Support: Potentially support the 9+ month implementation process to ensure the system meets business requirements.
- Ongoing Collaboration: Continue working closely with Finance and IT teams to ensure seamless integration, address issues, and optimize the new system.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and addressing any challenges that arise during the implementation phase.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in Accounting Systems: Strong background in evaluating and implementing accounting software solutions (Epicor or similar preferred).
- Accounting & Finance Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles and the ability to translate complex financial needs into actionable technical requirements.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Able to collaborate with finance and technical teams and clearly explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership & Problem-Solving: Ability to lead discussions, influence decisions, and guide the selection and implementation processes.
- Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple phases of the project, including vendor selection and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Multinational Companies: Prior experience working with multinational companies and scalable accounting solutions for mid-sized businesses.
- Familiarity with Other Platforms: Experience with platforms like Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Epicor, or other accounting/ERP solutions.
Soft Skills:
