Sr. Business Data Analyst - Irvine Technology Corporation

Position: Sr. Business Data Analyst

Location: Long Beach, CA

Work Model: Onsite/Hybrid (Onsite Monday - Thursday, and Remote on Fridays)

Duration: 6 month contract to permanent full time hire (open to direct hire)

Hourly Rate: 65/hr to 75/hr

Salary: 125k to 140k + Excellent Benefits Program

Must Have:

Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI etc.)

Business, Data, and System analysis

Responsibilities:

• Create databases and data marts using the Azure Data Analytics Platform, including Webhooks, Logic Apps, etc.
• Create and publish custom reports, dashboards, analyses and measures that provide information that helps the business run more effectively.
• Partner with internal and external IT resources to review data sets and develop integrations to combine databases into new data marts, Data Lakes, DataVerses and SQL databases that support BI reporting and analysis.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
• Design, build and implement SSRS reports to meet business needs.
• Automate the generation and distribution of Power BI solutions leveraging the M365 platform.
• Partner with IT and operations team members to develop functional specifications for new solutions that optimize the trade-offs between functionality and development costs.
• Cascade knowledge to business owners and end-users so they can easily consume reports, dashboards and analysis using Power BI, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and the entire M365 suite.
• Utilize the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) to automate workflows and improve business processes.
• Evaluate new technologies and formulate recommendations in support of a forward-looking IT strategy.
• Familiar with data security and data governance practices within Purview and able to rollout and manage the corporate wide data environment.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing best practices in data management.

What Gets You The Job:

• 3 or more years of relevant experience developing reporting and analysis solutions with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
• Proven experience developing solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Services, Data Lakes, Dataverse and SharePoint lists as data sources.
• Expertise with one or more modern coding language, including: Python, SQL, Java Script, R, HTML/CSS, ASP.Net or other related programming languages is a plus.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform /Power Apps and other low-code/no-code development platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills - a skilled business professional who communicates effectively with all levels of end-users and management.
• Proficient in standard business software, including Outlook, Team, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
