Summary - basic function of the role
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for creating business analysis and reporting for sales management and other cross functional departments to help drive commercial operational efficiency and business growth. This role will work closely with the Commercial team stakeholders to report on sales results, identify opportunities for sales execution automation, and assist in various ad hoc projects with an emphasis on data organization.
The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity to understand the "why" behind business sales processes and performance as well as have a deliberate work ethic. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be flexible with prioritization, proactive, and be a creative problem solver.
Shift: Monday - Friday, hybrid in office schedule in Deer Park, TX
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the use of data as a story, translating complex analytical work into easy-to-understand insights and recommendations for sales leadership and other stakeholders.
- Design, develop and manage data models to support Sales Operations and Field Sales teams.
- Work closely with members of the Americas Leadership Team to track KPIs.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and data interpretations to key internal customers as necessary.
- Support the Company's efforts to better transform data into insights by aligning on and designing standard dashboards, centralized reporting packages, and KPI reports as well as ongoing maintenance and review of the outputs for accuracy.
- Drive the effort to transition from Excel to Power BI as the Company's primary reporting tool as the business looks to modernize the presentation and extraction of data.
- Assist with data cleansing, mining, visualization, and program development across a variety of platforms.
- Collaborate across teams and departments to support other critical organizational projects , such as territory realignment, annual goal setting, and pricing analysis.
- Be a role model in the adoption of new technologies that will aid in the modernization of the reporting across the Commercial Team.
- Serve as a functional expert by providing accurate and reliable information and analyses.
Skills and Competencies

- Experience harmonizing data across multiple systems.
- Power BI experience required; you will be modifying/editing the dashboards/reports within Power BI.
- Exposure to analytics tools and languages including SQL, VBA, Power Query and Power Pivot in Excel.
- Capable of navigating in and understanding Oracle ERP or similar ERP system is desirable.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM software, Microsoft Office applications, and Oracle ERP or similar ERP system
- Ability to identify opportunities for innovative solutions and process improvement.
- Ability to communicate insights to broad audience including field sales managers, commercial leaders, and channel partners.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, industrial products is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, MBA strongly preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a (relevant) role; prior experience in manufacturing is a plus
Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee may have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. This can include occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. Employee may need to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee will need to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Employee can work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time. Will have repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting or a typical warehouse environment where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. While in the warehouse employee may be exposed to high levels of noise.
