Job Title: Architectural Design Specialist
Contract Duration: 1 year, on-site
Benefits: Per diem, mobilization support, and paid trips home
Role Overview:
- Execute A-E services contracts, ensuring seamless operations and delivery.
- Develop original architectural designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for various buildings.
- Coordinate and integrate architectural work with other engineering disciplines to ensure comprehensive project delivery.
- Manage procurement and subcontract requisitions, conduct technical evaluations, and recommend awards.
- Employ critical thinking to select and apply appropriate design skills and techniques to project-related tasks.
- Engage in a collaborative work environment that promotes openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and job satisfaction.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to both external and internal client service.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university, complemented by at least 6 years of progressive experience in the field.
- Actively working towards professional registration.
- Must pass a pre-employment screening that includes a drug test, physical exam (if stationed at the construction site), and background checks verifying employment and education.
- Eligibility to obtain a Department of Energy badge for site access.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient in architectural design, production techniques, building materials, and construction methods.
- Knowledgeable about NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, IBC, UFCs, and USGBC LEED Rating Systems.
- Ability to perform code reviews and prepare compliance reports and drawings.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Skilled in graphic presentation and familiar with engineering planning and control methods.
- Experience in producing detailed architectural construction documents and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
- Proficient in CADD applications like Autodesk design suite or MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp.
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and experience in developing CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Capable of presenting technical topics with competence and confidence.
- Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- LEED AP certified professional.
- Openness to relocation post-assignment completion.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
