Lawrence Group is seeking Architects to assist with healthcare projects in our St. Louis and Florida office.
This position will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering innovative healthcare facilities that prioritize patient care, staff efficiency, and operational excellence. Candidates considered should possess the skillset to lead all phases of project development, from conceptualization to construction administration, ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of design quality, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
The key responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning and design process for healthcare projects, including hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and specialized healthcare facilities.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and interdisciplinary teams to understand project goals, requirements, and constraints.
- Develop innovative design concepts that integrate evidence-based design principles, sustainable practices, and the latest advancements in healthcare technology.
- Prepare and present design proposals, feasibility studies, and project documentation to clients and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee the production of detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and inspections during construction phases to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain design integrity.
- Foster relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to promote collaboration and client satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare design and architecture, and incorporate them into project workflows and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Architect with 6+ years of experience in healthcare design and architecture preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex healthcare projects from concept to completion.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu
- Proficiency with Enscape. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software is a plus.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards related to healthcare facilities (e.g., FGI Guidelines, ADA requirements).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and innovation in healthcare architecture.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., AIA) is desirable.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may lead and mentor staff and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department if assigned.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment with hybrid schedule capability. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires no minimum ability to lift, bend or stand.

Travel
Moderate travel is expected for this position.
