We’re looking for a Sr Architect, Educational Programming to join our dynamic team in our Orlando or Atlanta office.

We are seeking a creative and dedicated Architect specializing in K-12 educational programming to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of educational environments and design principles that foster learning, collaboration, and innovation. This role will involve collaborating with educators, administrators, and community stakeholders to create spaces that enhance the educational experience.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Design Development: Lead the design and development of K-12 educational facilities, ensuring alignment with the latest educational trends and standards.
- Programming Analysis: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to determine educational programming requirements, translating these into effective architectural solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with educators, school administrators, and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback throughout the design process.
- Sustainability and Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design practices and innovative technologies that promote a healthy and engaging learning environment.
- Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety codes and accessibility standards.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate workshops and presentations to educate stakeholders on design concepts and gather community input.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs advanced assignments demonstrating complex professional architectural work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related architectural tasks. Assignments require sound independent judgement and application of a non-routine, complex nature, under the supervision of the Director. Assignments may include variables and be complex. Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
- Makes decisions independently on architectural problems and methods and represents the company by resolving important questions coordinating the work. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of architecture. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from progressive experience and education.
- Assignments usually include complex tasks and calculations with limited technical guidance on non-standard issues. Must coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an excellent understanding of the design process. Responsible for the preparation of project specific construction specifications and construction administration. Assignments may include managerial tasks of both project and personnel
- Proven experience involving Project Programming and Design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and permits for
- Has working knowledge of Revit to produce designs into routine final drawings, and performs limited Revit operations.
- Advanced understanding of codes and standards and has ability to research code issues, present interpretation, and properly apply in the daily
- Has an excellent understanding and knowledge of construction techniques and
- Performs Life Safety and Code Analysis and prepares Life safety
- Visits construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI’s, prepare ASI’s, PR’s, prepare status reports, per the contract
- Uses company and discipline department computer assisted drafting and design software and equipment to prepare architectural and design documents. Must be proficient in the use of personal
- Duties may include supervising, coordinating and checking the work, as well as instructing, leading and mentoring other staff members.

- Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings and specifications.
- Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.

- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project, Navisworks or BIM 360, Newforma, BlueBeam, and Word
- Must be familiar with Revit building analysis and energy modeling

- Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Quality Standards and Discipline Director’s
- Develops proposals and agreements for assigned
- Prepares forecast of workload and resources for assigned projects and/or department.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets and coordinates with the PM regarding adjustments to the work to maintain profitability.
- Responsible for meeting project schedules, timely completion and quality of assigned
- Delivers minimum of one technical training session to staff per year in each office.
- May serve as a project manager or project architect on assigned Must be prepared to sign and seal documents as AOR.
- Assists in marketing and presentations, and lead business
- An active member of local, state and/or national professional organizations.
- Tasks may change as management deems necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university
- Ten years of experience as an architect
- Must have passed the exam and be certified as a Professional Registered Architect
- Technically competent to sign and seal construction documents
- Must have experience in managing midsize to large projects
CERTIFICATE, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possess a Certificate of Licensed Registered Architect.
