A Typical Day:The Senior Application Developer designs, develops, and supports applications that automate key business functions such as pricing, trading, hedging, pooling, and shipping. This role requires proficiency in open-source technologies and the LAMP stack to contribute to the ongoing development of our IT infrastructure.
The SeniorApplication Developer will:
- Develop complex applications that drive enterprise transformation.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on code reviews.
- Utilize a modern tech stack including Ruby/Rails, Python, Typescript/React, Postgres, AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, and containerization technologies.
- Champion test-driven development (TDD) within a culture that prioritizes testing.
- Continuously learn and grow your skills while mentoring others.
- Collaborate directly with business users to understand needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in dynamic programming languages such as Ruby, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, including Extreme Programming.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
- Passion for open-source software and its community.

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
