Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for full-scope financial reporting, including the preparation and reconciliation of the balance sheet and income statement for each assigned division. This includes monthly close duties encompassing all event revenue & expense, G&A, petty cash, T&E, royalties and insurance.
The position works in conjunction with the Accounting Manager and is a contributing member of the finance team which oversees all Music Festivals in the region.
Essential Functions:
- Collect and compile all invoices pertaining to each assigned event, code to appropriate department and enter in JD Edwards ensuring that all data is entered correctly and matches reporting.
- Processing of road checks, daily cash receipts, invoices, artist payments, NSF checks, and all cash transactions.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of bank statements, show files, tickets, marketing invoices, merchandise settlement, ticket sales, and purchasing card charges for show costs – Research and resolve all necessary discrepancies.
- Work with operating staff to ensure proper documentation is in place for event settlement. Review and vouch supporting documents in the settlement file related to all revenue and expense.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned including: Ad-hoc projects/analyses and generation of reports on request.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in Finance/Accounting or related
- 4-5 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and their application
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - specifically vlookup, pivot tables, and other advanced formulas; Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Able to work both independently and as part of a large operational team on-site
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with good time management and the ability to multi-task
- Available to work on-site at festival events, including 10-20% travel
- Industry knowledge and event operations experience is preferred, but a love of music is required!
