Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations, supervise bookkeeping staff, and contribute to the preparation of financial statements. This role requires expertise in managing financial activities across diverse sectors and strong leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and validate financial data, reconcile general ledger accounts, and facilitate month-end closing activities.
- Provide guidance and support to bookkeeping staff, assisting with month-end closure and financial statement review.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Assist in preparing federal, state, and local income tax returns, conducting tax research, and offering tax planning recommendations.
- Manage general ledger account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and adjustments.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and system enhancements to improve financial operations efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of corporate or public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- CPA certification preferred.
