We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is integral to our financial infrastructure and involves a blend of both strategic and operational accounting. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, general ledger, financial analysis, and cost accounting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the manufacturing industry, cost analysis, and will be able to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues in a clear and concise manner. This position requires 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including financial reporting, general ledger, and cost accounting.
2. Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
3. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
4. Analyze financial reports for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO’s attention.
5. Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
6. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
7. Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting staff.
8. Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist the CFO with conducting audits.
9. Conduct regular ledger activities to ensure accuracy and consistency of entries.
10. Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs.
11. Prepare tax documents.
12. Compile and analyze financial statements.
13. Manage budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 2+ years of accounting experience in a senior role.
3. Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. High proficiency in financial reporting, accounting, general ledger, financial analysis, cost accounting, and cost analysis.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
9. Superior attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask.
12. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
13. Proficient in accounting software.
14. CPA certification is a plus.
