Job Description
Position works with the GL team to produce accurate, GAAP compliant, consolidated monthly financial reports for St. Elizabeth Hospitals and St. Elizabeth Physicians to be distributed to Senior Management and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. This includes financial analysis, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of complex accounts, resolution of reconciling items, process improvement, and preparation of reports to support the Annual footnote disclosures. Position is responsible for recording/overseeing/improving processes (which could include daily and other hospital statistics, inventory transactions, accounting for payroll transactions, daily pharmacy transactions, accounting for investments, or others as determined appropriate). Act as a liaison between accounting and hospital operators or the state for required information requests.

Job Duties
• Work with the GL team to produce accurate, GAAP compliant, consolidated monthly financial reports for St. Elizabeth Hospitals and St. Elizabeth Physicians to be distributed to Senior Management and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
• This includes financial analysis, preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of reports to support the footnote disclosures.
• More comprehensive reports are prepared on a quarterly basis to meet bond compliance requirements.
• Prepare complex accounting reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure financial statements are correct.
• Reconcile various systems and sub ledgers and the general ledger daily and monthly.
• Responsible for recording/overseeing/improving accounting processes (which could include daily and other hospital statistics, inventory transactions, accounting for payroll transactions, daily pharmacy transactions, accounting for investments, or others as determined appropriate).
• Act as a liaison between accounting and hospital operators or the state for required information requests, etc.
• Complete responsibilities timely and participate in cross-training activities to ensure department coverage of critical tasks.
• Analyze and research requests from senior management, or others.
• Perform other accounting related duties as assigned, which could include journal entries, ad hoc reporting or schedules.
Qualifications
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Specialized Knowledge:
• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills paired with knowledge of financial analysis and business concepts.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with and analyzing high volume transactions.
Kind and Length of Experience:
• 5 years of general ledger experience.
DESIRABLE
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
• CPA or MBA
Specialized Knowledge:
• Experience in the healthcare industry
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials application or other ERP system.
Kind and Length of Experience:
• Hospital Finance experience including extensive multiple spreadsheet applications, i.e., clinical based systems, and EPIC
