The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in overseeing core accounting functions, including the maintenance of accurate financial records, account reconciliation, and preparation of comprehensive financial reports. This position requires a high level of precision, analytical thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to achieve organizational objectives. As a trusted advisor, the Senior Accountant will analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend strategies to enhance financial performance. The position is fully onsite, located in an easily accessible office environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and variances, providing actionable insights to management.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analyses and performance metrics, to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements in reporting and daily accounting operations, driving automation and efficiency.
- Manage sales and use tax responsibilities, including payments, system updates, annual filings, and audit support.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, offering insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in financial reporting.
- Reconcile and process commission payments for sales representatives and distributors, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Evaluate existing internal controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance asset protection.
- Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior accountants, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Document and regularly update standard operating procedures for all accounting tasks.
- Lead or participate in special projects as assigned, contributing to the achievement of broader organizational goals.

- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related field.
