Summary
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, specifically relating to insurance expense, pension plans and investments.
This position will support our Accounting team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Perform monthly journal entries and reconciliation for Prepaid expenses, GRIR, Concur postings and others as assigned.
+ Perform and manage the internal order accounting, settlements, ensuring accurate cost tracking and allocation.
+ In charge of Project/job accounting functions, ensuring accurate tracking of job costs and revenues. Including regular review, maintenance and reconciliation.
+ Assist in executing Samanage and system tickets for project management.
+ Assist with Accounting transformation journey through development of financial policies regarding operational changes, internal control requirements, and technical accounting requirements.
+ Support completion of audit requests, internal data requests, process improvement initiatives and adhoc projects within the accounting and financial reporting departments.
+ Must have the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization and with cross-functional teams.
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in Accounting, Finance and/or business administration is required. CPA is preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years of progressive work experience.
+ SAP and Hyperion experience preferred.
+ Experienced in General Ledger accounting.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
+ Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with strong customer service focus.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate accounting and financial information to others.
+ Strong Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint skills with ability to perform pivot tables, vlookup, and other Excel formulas without assistance to analyze data quickly.
+ Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and detail oriented.
