Sr Accountant -Consolidations & Reporting - Marquee Staffing

Job Summary:

Responsible for interacting with various levels of accounting and finance personnel to ensure timely and accurate consolidation of our subsidiaries, addressing all intercompany transactions, making eliminating entries, and resolving any disputes efficiently before the close of the period. Works directly with the consolidations and reporting team, our consumer division, and other stakeholders in identifying and implementing internal process improvements to aid in more timely and accurate financial information and close process.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 

• Ensure timely and accurate consolidation of the Company’s healthcare and non-healthcare divisions and its subsidiaries during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Assist in the preparation of intercompany accounting, including eliminations, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare intercompany account reconciliations and verify all items and activities contained within each account.
• Ensure intercompany account reconciliations are performed in a timely manner.
• Maintain chart of accounts.
• Setup new intercompany eliminations within the consolidation tool.
• Analyze, research, and resolve intercompany discrepancies related to intercompany journal entries.
• Review and verify that intercompany balance discrepancies were resolved timely.
• Ensure foreign currency transactions are recorded accurately and timely on both the Company’s healthcare and non-healthcare divisions, in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with the monthly foreign currency rate uploads into the consolidation tool.
• Assist with the preparation of SEC filings on a quarterly, annual and adhoc basis.
• Assist with the preparation of detailed month-end and quarter-end financial reporting packages.
• Assist with the preparation of government business compliance reports.
• Assist with the administration of the Company’s blackout list, and associated disclosure committee reporting.
• Assist with the administration of the quarterly SOX Sub-Certification process.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least three (3) years of work experience in accounting or auditing for a public company with a public accounting firm or U.S. public company.
• Advanced MS-Excel skills and heavy experience with pivot tables and formulas.
• Self-starter with a high comfort level learning business, accounting, and reporting solutions software packages.
• Works well under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate with support personnel and management.
• Detail-oriented and highly deadline driven with the ability to demonstrate ownership of the tasks assigned.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A mix of public accounting (with experience working on publicly traded companies) or private company experience.
• CPA track.
• Understanding of intercompany/consolidation transactions.

Education:

BS/BA Degree in Accounting, or BS/BA in Business with an emphasis in accounting.
