Sr Accountant - Sparks Group

Sparks Group has partnered with a retirement services and life insurance company to find a talented Senior Accountant.  As the Senior Accountant you will work independently to prepare financial reports, ensure compliance, and contribute to our monthly closing process. • Prepare monthly financials (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile accounts, manage collections, verify payments, and ensure proper account coding.
• Bank & tax compliance: Reconciles bank statements, files tax forms, and assists with audits.
• Ensure all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Maintains and recommends updates to the accounting software system.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• 2 years of experience with statutory reporting
• Strong statutory background with comprehensive understanding of life, accident, & health insurance and annuities.
• Insurance industry experience is preferred.
