Sr Accountant - Life & Annuity Insurance
No opportunity to work remote - locals are preferred, but carrier will consider someone relocating, at their own expense
REQUIRES CURRENT/RECENT INSURANCE CARRIER ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE
We're assisting this relatively new Life & Annuity insurance group in their search for an insurance accountant. We’re targeting a minimum of 2 years of experience in GL and yellow or blue book filing within a Life/Annuity/Health or P&C carrier. 3 to 5 years would be a plus. This is a growth opportunity for someone who is looking forward to building and defining their career in insurance accounting. Will report to wonderful hiring manager/Director of Finance who is known for his mentorship and building relationships.
Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to...........
Assist in audits
Reconcile bank accounts/deposits and respond to bank inquiries
Code invoices/set up new accounts/make reconciliations/perform closings
Maintain the GL - balance sheets/income statements/cash flow
Assist in GAAP reporting
Coordinate maintenance/upgrades/enhancements of accounting software system
File required tax forms
Looking for someone who works well with others in a team setting, has a collaborative spirit and foremost - brings a customer centered focus.
Should be very experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and have a 4-year degree.
Additional information:
Casual Dress Days are on Fridays with an early closing at 3:00 PM
8 - 5:00 normal work hours Monday - Thursday.
Free covered parking.
Monday - Thursday dress is business casual - no jeans or athletic tennis shoes.
This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus of up to 20%.
