TITLE: SQL Server DBA
LOCATION: Duluth, GA (onsite 5 days per week)
ANTICIPATED DURATION:Direct Hire Role
SQL Server DBA Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage Microsoft SQL and other database systems locally and in Azure.
- Work with Research and Development teams to fine-tune and improve how games and applications interact with SQL and other databases.
- Analyze and update complex SQL queries to improve database and application performance and efficiency.
- Conduct database administration, configuration, performance tuning, and replication.
- Perform database sizing, space management, and SQL tuning on SQL Server 2019 and 2022.
- Perform storage, server, and database backups, data migrations, and disaster recovery operations.
- Document procedures related to supporting and managing SQL and other databases.
- Collaborate with business applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel.
- Provide technical assistance to other departments and divisions.
- Support data warehousing and data lakes including ETL strategy, data movement and aggregation, as well as data quality strategy.
SQL Server DBA Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong SQL skills.
- Strong familiarity with development methodologies, including AGILE development approaches.
- 2+ years’ experience working with SQL virtual machines and databases in Azure.
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools.
- Expertise in SQL databases, SQL security, performance and query tuning, replication, backups, patching, maintenance, and implementation.
- Experience using MS SQL databases in application development.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., T-SQL, or PowerShell) for automation.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools, including Azure Data Factory.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of web application security.
SQL Server DBA Preferred Experience:
- Additional relevant certifications or advanced technical training.
- Experience with other cloud platforms or database technologies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

The compensation range for this position is $90 - $120k annually (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
