SQL Server Database Administrator - INSPYR Solutions

Role: SQL Server DBA
Location: Houston, TX 77002
Duration: 6 month contract
Work Authorization: US Citizen, Green Card, or authorized to work in the US

Job Description:
The Contract Microsoft SQL DBA will work 100% on-site and be responsible for routine database administration tasks. IE: Database restores, installation and configuration based on provided set of standards. Contractor will be exposed to complex enterprise applications in production and non-production environments. Experience with on- premise and cloud environments is preferred.

Duties

• Management of SQL databases in non-production and production environments.
• Database backup/recovery and capacity monitoring.
• Able to write/manage scripts in TSQL, PowerShell, DOS batch.
• Ability to work within the confines of a ticketing system.
• Able to assist on any database issues regarding application deployments/changes/functionality in real time environments.
• Work closely with Infrastructure Technology database management team and application development teams to ensure database operational continuity, availability, integrity, recovery, and security.
• Support DevOps related database pipelines and Cloud database initiatives.
• Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and high availability issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in SQL database administration.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
• Experience with DevOps and Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with other database RDBMs for example Postgres, Redis, Mongo
• Experience in HA/Failover technologies.
• Experience with SQL Server on VM.
• Capacity to discuss and implement operational automation using TSQL, PowerShell, Python, Ansible or other scripting languages.
• Excellent customer support and problem-solving skills.
• Strong focus on achieving goals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain and document complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
