*Please note: This is not a remote position, the expectation is that this person will work on site in our Livonia, MI office at least twice a week.
Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled Data Migration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing data migration projects from an existing SQL Server to a new SQL Server hosted in Azure Devops. Taking a cleansed data structure from a client 3rd party structure and migrating it to the Tegrit data model. This role involves developing and maintaining ETL processes, optimizing SQL queries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration. The candidate will also utilize C# and other .NET technologies to create custom data migration tools and scripts, perform data validation, and ensure data integrity post-migration.
Major Job Functions:
- Plan, execute, and manage data migration projects from various sources to SQL Server.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data transfer.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance to enhance data migration efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Utilize C# and other .NET technologies to develop custom data migration tools and scripts.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure data integrity post-migration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data migration issues in a timely manner.
- Document data migration processes, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in SQL Server data migration and database management.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with C# and other .NET technologies.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design.
- Experience with cloud-based data migration (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in SQL Server or related technologies.
- Experience with other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality management.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practices.
