Rate: DOE (W2/1099/C2C)
Job Description
As a Consultant, you are an expert at contributing to different phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will be intensely involved in; you will define the problem, propose and refine the solution. You will also play an important role in the development, configuration and deployment of the overall solution. You will guide teams on project processes, deliverables and contribute to the proposal development, client training and internal capability-building and help detail the project scope. You will have the opportunity to shape value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape.
Required
Candidate should have excellent communication and documentation skills and should be able to independently perform L2/L3 activities without any supervision or guidance and also able to lead the team of junior SQL DBAs.
The candidate should have expertise in carrying out the following tasks:
Extensive experience in installation and configuration of MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008,2012 and 2014 versions
Experience in performing SQL server up-gradation activities.
Experience in applying latest released SQL Server Patches (2000,2005,2008,2012,2014)
Extensive Experience in SQL Server Migrations of various versions(2000,2005,2008,2012,2014)
Monitoring the SQL server related services and using the SQL Configuration manager.
Database Connectivity between the servers (Application servers, webservers, and database servers).
SQL server Security management (creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users.)
Creating tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, cursors.
Experience in configuring and monitoring the High availability solutions in SQL:
a. SQL server Clustering
b. SQL server Mirroring
c. SQL server Log Shipping
d. SQL server replication
Analyzing and defining capacity planning for maintenance of the Database backups.
Configuring the Database maintenance plan as per the capacity planning and priority/severity of the Database and defining the required retention period for the backup storage.
Configuring and scheduling SQL server jobs as per the definition.
Configuring Database mail and defining email alerts for any failures.
Setting up linked servers and troubleshooting any issues related to ODBC connectivity.
Experience in using SQL server Performance Monitoring tools
Experience in Performance Tuning, Database consistency checks using DBCC Utilities.
Extensive experience in trouble shooting database issues.
Monitor SQL Error Logs/ Schedule tasks/data activity/ eliminate blocking and deadlocks/ user counts and connections/ locks
Perform periodic checking of databases with DBCC command for maintaining data consistency and integrity and rebuilt indexes.
Performing Database Refresh in production/Development/UAT environments.
Knowledge on SQL server MSBI Tools(SSIS,SSRS,SSAS)
Experience on Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.
Coordination with different Teams (like Network Team and other application Teams).
Coordination with Stake holders and customers.
Experience on windows Server Administration (Start /Stopping of the Services, Virtual Memory Configurations, logical disk space management, folder permissions, user permissions, ensure patching the servers by coordinating with windows admin teams e.t.c)
Joining Bridge Calls and should be there on the calls until resolution of the issues and documenting the RCAs for Team's future reference.
Building knowledge documents on resolutions and issues.
Experience on analyzing the log files on trouble shooting the issues.
High Memory Consumption Processes, memory threshold values, and Ensure sufficient free disk space availability in all the servers.
Providing proactive recommendations based on application usage.
Work with internal/external audit requests/requirements to ensure compliance with audit requests
Preferred
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) – Must
ITIL V3/V2 – desired.
