RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, adjust, and operate automatic spring machines, ovens, and grinder.
• Change tooling as needed.
• Operate all machines by self.
• Help solve dimensional problems related to machine(s).
• Inspect parts per print specifications.
• Help train and assist new operators.
• Able to read and change programs.
• Effectively communicate to management any production issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Have the ability to perform advanced set-ups on machines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Clean work area at end of shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required. Related work experience preferred.
• Read blueprints, understand basic math (including fractions and decimals), some knowledge of CNC programming and controls, remember, observe and problem solving.
• Per 10-12 hr. shift (stand up to 8 hrs., walk up to 4 hrs.), occasionally (bend, squat, balance, push/pull), occasionally (reach above shoulder level, kneel). Frequent lifting and carrying (frequently from 0 to 24 lbs., occasionally from 25 to 50 lbs.). Must be able to hear, see, distinguish colors, do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to heat, dust, solvents, and oil.  Must be able to safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.
