Job DescriptionOur award-winning AECOM Sports and Venues practice is seeking a Senior Architectural Construction Administrator for immediate employment and is expected to be remotely based and scheduled to run till Fall of 2026. The candidate is to lead construction administration activities on a current Sports project in Orlando, FL.

Position Overview:
Working closely with the Sports Project Manager, you'll work with a talented team of architects, championing creative solutions that redefine spaces, enhance communities, and align with our commitment to innovation and sustainability.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for supervision of construction activities as they relate to contract administration and management of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and change management.
- Coordinate between design team and construction manager various facets of the GMP bid and award , construction and close-out phase of all assigned projects.
- Manages other representatives from AECOM when onsite and coordinates work of other onsite design disciplines that are under contract as subconsultants to AECOM.
- Reviews pre-construction documents to becomes familiar with the subsequent construction scopeand coordinate comments of the AECOM team as necessary.
- Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to Design Team and Client with respect to the status and/or progress of the construction.
- Participates by being on-site in weekly Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Coordinates construction administration work effort with AECOM employees that will engage in Construction Administration support out of the respective AECOM offices.
- Ability to convey information to AECOM offices either through photographic, narrative or sketches or other means where urgent interpretation of proposed revisions to documents are required to maintain construction schedule.
- Coordinates with all pertinent public agencies during pre-construction and construction to comply with all off-site work; coordinates with various Owner’s, Contractors, and other applicable Project staff.
- Observes Provides oversight and monitoring for daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules and submittals, and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries thru the Requests for Information (RFI) process and other related documents.
- Reviews substitution submittals from contractors to ensure specification and/or Owner’s requirements are complied.
- Receives, and provides reviews, comments and recommendations and assists with negotiating regarding Contractor Change Order Proposal(s) to achieve a fair & reasonable price in accordance with the General Conditions; reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner.
- Reviews Certificates for Payment and advises Owner on completed work the process and monitors payments for the contractor, architects, engineers and any other pertinent parties.
- Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the Owner as relates to construction administration procedures.
- Monitors and manages project close-out with respect to project substantial completion and subsequent development of the lunch list and Contractor completion.
- Render all decisions relative to administration of construction except those involving aesthetics and/or design, which will be coordinated with the Project Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS + 8 years of experience in managing construction administration oversight of professional sports facility/ public assembly projects or related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- Significant knowledge and thorough understanding of construction contracts, applicable building and life safety codes, scheduling, and familiarity with materials, methods and processes of construction.
- 10+ experience in managing construction administration oversight of professional sports facility/ public assembly projects.
- Previous responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values more than $100M (not cumulative).
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects
- Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
- Knowledge of Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum).
- Proficiency and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
- Working knowledge of E-Builder is preferred but not necessary
- Must be confident, and positive and have ability to manage people, maintain great communication skills, and make decisions promptly to maintain tight and sometimes aggressive construction schedules and deadlines.
