About the Job
Iowa Sports Turf is hiring a Sports Field Construction Project Manager who will be responsible for managing and driving the full project life-cycle with both internal and external stakeholders through inception, design, planning, plan execution, and client follow-up. The person in this role makes decisions regarding job execution and changes and act as point of contact to communicate and clarify project scope, operations, schedule resources, and project management. This person coordinates all aspects of the job with stakeholders including engineers, general and subcontractors, subcontractors and internal management to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
The Project Manager must have the ability to communicate professionally and effectively, have keen attention to detail, and be able to problem solve while working with a diverse group of stakeholders. This role requires a high level of flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where working long hours and weekends may be necessary. The ideal candidate for this role will have education in construction management or similar, experience managing construction projects, experience working as a Construction Manager at Risk, and experience with athletic surface construction projects.

Responsibilities
This role requires a high level of flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This person must have strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a high level of attention to detail to complete athletic field construction tasks. The Sports Field Construction Project Manager is a crucial member of our construction team, helping to ensure the success of each project. Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as primary client POC/Liaison for projects, providing updates, getting information, obtaining approvals, and keeping the project on schedule.
- Coordinate with leadership to ensure resources are available to support the project timeline
- Develop, maintain, monitor, communicate, and drive the project schedule while providing regular reviews and updates to leadership. Identify changes needed on projects and manage completion of changes as required.
- Review contract documents, contract drawings, specifications, codes, addendums and estimates to accurately define and capture project scope; Plan, manage, and drive the full project life-cycle with both internal and external stakeholders, through inception, design, planning, plan execution, and client follow-up.
- Generate and maintain appropriate project documentation (submissions, approvals, SOWs, POs, schedule, change orders, etc.)
- Identify project problems and Team and/or subcontractors in finding and implementing solutions; communicate how solutions address client goals while maintaining alignment with best practices.
- Facilitate QA/QC process and ensure that quality standards are being met. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Coach Team on best practices and quality standards.
- Perform on-site walkthroughs to ensure quality, on-time delivery, performance, and client satisfaction objectives are met.
- Inspect and review projects to ensure Musco is compliant with building and safety codes and/or other regulations.
- Monitor project profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities including attention to detail, follow-up, and thoroughness.
- Ability to work and create relationships with a variety of people at all levels, both within Musco and outside the company
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding details related to Musco projects, through both verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction projects.
- Proficient with Office 365 products.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of the practical application of construction, engineering science and/or technology needed to successfully execute Musco construction projects.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
- 3 - 5 years managing construction projects.
- Construction manager at risk (CMAR) experience strongly preferred.
- Athletic field construction project management or construction experience preferred.
