Our client is seeking a Lead Spin Forming Operator in the Aerospace industry!
The Lead Spin Forming Operator must possess comprehensive knowledge of MJC engineered spin forming CNC equipment. This role requires the ability to explain their position within the Quality Management System (QMS) and understand how their responsibilities contribute to product quality and safety. Ethical conduct according to company policies is essential. The Lead Spin Forming Operator oversees the setup and operation of Spin Forming Machines to produce shaped articles from sheet or plate metal, employing blueprints and understanding metal properties. Continual improvement, waste elimination, and adherence to safety protocols are integral to this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate Spin Forming Machines to produce shaped articles from sheet or plate metal.
- Learn and perform powered spinning and CNC spinning metal forming.
- Acquire necessary skills to perform CNC programming for CNC spin forming machines.
- Identify and eliminate process waste, streamline production processes, and foster continuous improvement.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of machine fixtures.
- Operate Spin Forming Machines efficiently.
- Report recommendations or concerns affecting quality or time management to management.
- Understand the impact on customer products in case of failure.
- Operate overhead cranes for material movement.
- Perform any other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability in metal spinning.
- High school diploma, GED, or degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant spin forming experience.
- Advantageous to have experience with Aerospace materials and hot spinning.
- Proficiency in operating MJC type spinning machines.
- Familiarity with SpinCAD or similar software preferred.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of effective communication with all levels of management.
- Proficient in blueprint interpretation.
- General understanding of spin forming machine setups and tooling.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal customers.
- Trained in applicable changes and customer requirements.
- Familiarity with QMS basic reporting, record-keeping, and instruction-following.
