Our client, a nationally recognized and award-winning healthcare provider, is seeking a Speech Therapist (Pathologist) to join their dedicated team. Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited speech and hearing program.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-certification supervised experience in an institutional setting.
- At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Home Health Care
- Epic Home Health
- Home Health
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in Illinois.
- Must possess at least one of the following certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS)
- No prior applications or employment with our Award Winning Client within the last six months.
- Must have already discussed this position with a Relode recruiter.
Preferred:
- Candidates should provide their SLP License Number.
Overview: The Speech Therapist will deliver specialized therapy services to patients as designated by their physicians, focusing on treatments for speech, language, and/or swallowing disorders. This role includes developing and implementing rehabilitation plans, conducting evaluations through diagnostic tests, and providing consultation to the patient's healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, assess, and plan rehabilitation services for speech and language disorders.
- Conduct evaluations of patient speech and language using diagnostic tests.
- Establish rehabilitation goals and periodically review patient progress.
- Update patient progress reports and communicate any changes to the attending physician.
- Educate family members and healthcare team on assisting patients with communication skills improvement.
- Maintain detailed clinical and progress notes as per Agency policy.
- Make referrals to audiology speech clinics or community services as indicated.
- Ensure professional competency through ongoing education and adherence to professional standards.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Travel:
- This role requires regular travel by automobile, subject to varying weather conditions.
