Overview
A school in Winter Park, FL is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic team as an independent contractor. The successful candidate will provide speech and language services to students from preschool through high school, supporting their communication needs and helping them achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations.
- Identify students with speech and language impairments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Therapeutic Intervention:
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and treatment.
- Prepare reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in speech pathology through ongoing education and training.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to the field.
Qualifications
- Education and Certification:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Experience working with a diverse student population.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
