- Conducting assessments and interpreting data to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to implement effective speech-language therapy activities tailored to each student's needs.
- Monitoring and adjusting treatment plans, ensuring clear communication among all team members.
- Developing IEP goals and administering tests to support ongoing progress.
- Providing insightful reports and recommendations for student needs.
- Utilizing behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
- A master's degree from an accredited academic program.
- Active ASHA certification for speech-language pathologists (CCC-SLP) and/or audiologists (CCC-A).
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child's educational/behavioral program.
- Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
- Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
- Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
- Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an SLP.
