Role Description:
We seek a dedicated and compassionate full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) to join our team in Bethesda, MD, Germantown, MD, and Washington, DC. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant will support Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing high-quality speech and language therapy services to pediatric clients, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist SLPs in conducting speech and language screenings.
- Implement treatment plans developed by SLPs to address speech and language disorders.
- Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of licensed SLPs.
- Monitor and document client progress, reporting to SLPs for plan adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Educate and support families in understanding their child's speech and language development and participating in the therapy process.
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards, maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
- Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) in Maryland.
- Experience working with pediatric clients preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing family-centered care and supporting the diverse needs of our clients.
Physical Requirements:
- Climb and descend staircases.
- Safely lift 10+ pounds.
- Sit on the floor, kneel, or squat for extended periods during the day.
